In home Newborn Session | Raleigh NCNewborn sessions are done in my client’s home. I do this for many reasons – the biggest reason is so that we can have a very low key morning and just go with the flow. It is great for older siblings – she was able to run around and play with her toys, eat snacks and was happy to come be a part of photos in and out. I don’t bring much with me to newborn sessions, we customize each session with the rooms and décor of my clients. For Avery’s session, we primarily used mom and dad’s room. The lighting coming in from the windows was beautiful and the bedspread was a great neutral color. Sometimes we use the baby’s nursery but it all just depends on what the family wants. Mom and I chose a few wraps and headbands and we started the session by mama feeding her baby. Avery wanted to be awake for the photos with her sister so we went with it! Eventually, little miss fell asleep and we took that opportunity to grab a few shots of her in a little cradle they had. I tend to rearrange furniture when I visit – and in this case they had a beautiful, plain wall in their dining room so we made that location work for those photos.
