"I do not care what kind of birth you have… a home birth, scheduled cesarean, epidural hospital birth, or if you birth alone in the woods next to baby deer. I care that you had options, that you were supported in your choices, and that you were respected.”
- January Harshe
My philosophy of birth is based around power. Every birthing person should have a voice, and feel empowered to speak up. Birth changes us, and surrounding yourself with those who will encourage you and hold space for you as you find that strength is the the key to making your transformation informed, educated and positive.
Reflections from my 10 years of telling birth stories
1.
Every birthing person’s voice is powerful and should be heard.
2.
Doulas are worth their weight in gold.
3.
Breastfeeding can be fucking hard!
4.
Holding space for each family makes all the difference.
“Words cannot express the gratitude I have for all that Amanda has done for us, and how much I would recommend her to expecting parents. You will NEVER regret documenting the birth of your child, no matter where your birth takes place or how your baby comes into the world. The support and knowledge that she offers through her extensive birth experience is also invaluable. Amanda will forever be a special part of our family.”

“Amanda has always brought an assuringly calm aura to our births. I really appreciate how she somehow manages to get the most intimate moments while remaining in the background, never distracting. Amanda goes the extra mile in both capturing & helping maintain the vibes of each birth space.”
-Rebecca
“When our birth plan turned into a cesarean, I was ecstatic that the hospital allowed Amanda to be in the operating room. She was able to get photos and video of our first moments as a family of 3. The photos from the operating room are absolutely amazing. Our son loves to watch the video and look at the photos from his birth. It was definitely an investment that was well worth it!”
-Abigail
“Amanda made me feel strong enough to advocate for the experience I wanted. She shared her knowledge and I felt empowered to make my own decisions with my twin birth.
I will always be grateful I chose to include her in my birth team and treasure her photos!”
-Alex
